We All Do It

We all do it...

We avoid the dentist - postpone the oil change - ignore the warning light. It's just something we all do and often, we get away with it. Nothing seriously bad happens... until it does.

Unfortunately, this is the nature of the garage door. We never think about it until something goes wrong.
It won't open, or close, when we need it the most. But nothing too much worse can happen right????

Well, sometimes very serious things happen. Doors fall on cars or worse yet kids. The picture below is a great example of a very serious result of ignoring the balky garage door. The customer ignored the sound their opener made every time they opened the door. They didn't think about it... and, they almost burned their house down.

Please, pay attention to that garage door and opener. Please call a professional and have your door inspected and tuned-up (just like your car) every year or so. It will run better, smoother. safer and last longer.

We know you won't regret it.

We get this question a lot!

We talk with lots and lots of homeowners about their garage doors and any needed repairs, and we get this question a lot... How do your replacement parts compare to typical replacement parts??
Let's start with quality. Precision Garage Door parts are designed for a long trouble free life, they are commercial grade and the highest quality parts available in the garage door industry today.

What about longevity? Our Springs are rated to last 4 times longer than typical springs and our rollers are designed to last 10 times longer than the typical roller.

What about Cost?  Yes Precision parts do cost a little more...maybe 10% more, but when compared with the typical...we call it great value.

Creating Curb Appeal on a Budget

So what’s the best way to spruce up the appearance of your house without breaking the bank?
There are many budget-friendly exterior projects that can increase curb appeal.
■A fresh coat of paint can work wonders, whether it’s applied to the entire house or just on the front door. If your house is painted a neutral color like white or cream, be adventurous and try an energizing red or soothing aqua on your front door; the pop of color will add appealing interest.

■While a landscaping overhaul can be very expensive, window boxes or planters are an easy and cost-effective way to add natural beauty to your home’s façade.

■Do your windows look bare? Try adding shutters for added style, but make sure they are appropriately-sized. Buying shutters that are smaller than the windows they flank is an all-too-common mistake homeowners make, causing windows to look disproportionately small.

■If you have a garage, don’t overlook the importance of a good-looking garage door. According to the 2011 Cost vs. Value Report by Remodeling Magazine, garage door replacement continues to stand as a valuable, cost-efficient home improvement project. Garage door replacement ranks as the #4 midrange exterior project, recovering 71.9% of the cost invested.

A garage door can account for up to thirty percent of a home’s exterior seen from the street, so having an attractive design is vital to good curb appeal. But, like shutters to a window, a garage door should be appropriately matched to its house’s architectural style. There are all kinds of styles available today, from authentic carriage house to traditional to modern aluminum designs. Don’t let budget constraints keep you from improving the appearance of your home’s exterior. There are many low-cost ways to improve your home’s curb appeal.
